About the Role:

Cutting Edge Excavating is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead our excavating projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction project management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously.

As a Project Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for meticulous planning, directing, and managing every phase of the project. This role involves reviewing project bids, negotiating and managing subcontractor contracts, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocations, and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
  • Evaluate and select contractors and subcontractors based on qualifications, experience, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report on project status to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, prioritizing a safe working environment for all involved.
  • Manage construction project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders.
  • Conduct regular meetings to facilitate communication, address challenges, and achieve project objectives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including milestones, budget updates, and any significant developments or risks.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough project evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high- performance work environment.
  • Oversee all project phases, including materials, labor, costs, permits, bonds, and site inspections.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction project management with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills, including effective planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, including project blueprints and construction schematics.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage project teams and stakeholders. Ability to learn and use construction management software and project scheduling tools. Trimble GPS experience is a bonus.

Service Technician – Truck & Heavy Equipment (Full-Time)

About the Role:

We are searching for a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment, including:

  • Gas and diesel pickups
  • Diesel semi-trucks
  • Dump trucks
  • Dump trailers
  • This is a full-time position with a regular shift schedule of 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems in trucks and heavy equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks like lubrication, oil changes, and brake checks
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Maintain accurate service records
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and their components
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in truck or heavy equipment repair (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A CDL Class A is a plus (for test drives)
